Early this March Henry was hit by a car. It was extremely traumatic for all of us. Thankfully there is an amazing Emergency Veterinary clinic in Melbourne that saw to his injuries. He had his right front leg removed and will live his senior years as a tripod. We are so grateful that he is still with us.

Everyday he is healing and getting stronger. Learning to navigate with one less leg while on painkillers is slow but steady. Once the staples were removed his mobility began to improve.

Other than being carried this is Henry’s favorite way to get around. We do a lot of walking each day and this has helped a lot.

Once the water was warm enough we began paddling boarding a few times a week. Henry loves it and has done wonders to improve his balance. We are at the two month point in his recovery and he has the strength and stamina to walk around the block. He is also beginning to play with his toys and chew bones. Seeing his personality return has been such a relief. He wears out easily and the loose sand on the beach is still too hard for him to navigate so we are still waiting on those beach walks.
